Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inaugurated the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is held under the slogan "We create knowledge... We preserve the Word."
The Cairo International Book Fair will run until 6 February, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
The opening was attended by a number of ministers, the Governor of Cairo, a number of ambassadors, a number of writers and media professionals, and Hilda Klimtsdal, Ambassador of Norway in Cairo.
During his tour of the book fair, the Prime Minister visited the pavilion of Norway, the guest of honor of the fifty-fifth edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, which was designed to reflect Norwegian culture.
Dr. Nevine Kilani, Minister of Culture, said that the Kingdom of Norway is the guest of honor for this session, allowing broad horizons for cultural and creative exchange, and the name of Egyptologist, Dr. Salim Hassan, was chosen as the personality of the exhibition, because of its great role in consolidating the Egyptian identity, as well as choosing the name of the great children's writer Yacoub Al-Sharouni, to be the personality of this year's children's exhibition, as one of the most prominent pioneers of children's literature in the Arab world.
The poster of the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 was designed by Dr. Ashraf Reda, Professor of Fine Arts, expressing the spirit of ancient Egyptian art, and the splendor of distinctive Arabic calligraphy.
