Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued a press release of primary data of manufacturing and extractive industries of production index of November 2023.
CAPMAS has updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of main indices of industrial activity according to the Industrial Activity Manual (ISIC Rev.4) and by using the monthly index (for producer prices based on 2012/2013)That's since January 2020.
The manufacturing and extractive industries index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 96.25 during November 2023 (primary) compared to 96.78 during October 2023 (final), a decrease of 0.55%.
Economic Activities that witnessed an increase are as follows: The Manufacture of food products reached 119.50 during November 2023, compared to October 2023, reaching 116.55, an increase of 2.53% due to market needs.
The Manufacture of tobacco products;reached176.63 during November 2023, compared to October 2023, reaching 136.20, an increase of 29.68% due to market needs.
A decrease in the level of the following economic activities: Manufacture of electrical equipment; reached 104.21during November 2023, compared to October 2023, reaching 110.56 a decrease of 5.74%, due to the lack of raw materials necessary for production.
Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (Bricks, Glass, and Cement); reached 84.51 during November 2023, compared to October 2023, reaching 89.08adecrease by 5.13%, due to market needs.
