CAIRO, Nov. 12 (SEE)- Egyptian exports from steel increased 18% to reach $ 797 million until September 2018 compared to $ 676 million in the same period last year.
The Export Council said on Monday in its monthly report that Egypt's exports of building materials and metal industries marked a slight drop of 0.2% in the first nine months of this year to reach $ 3.818 billion against $ 3.826 billion during the same period last year,
Building materials and metal industries accounted for 20.6% of the total value of Egyptian exports during that period, the council said.
Italy recorded the highest imports of Egyptian steel during the first nine months of this year with a total value of $ 111.6 million, followed by Turkey at $ 98 million, Spain at $ 89 million.
The United States came in 5th place acquiring $ 82 million worth of Egyptian products followed by Saudi Arabia with $ 61 million, Sudan $ 51.5 million, Syria $ 44.6 million, Algeria $ 37 million, and last but not the least, the Philippines with $ 25 million.
