The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects a break in the intense heatwave on Saturday, with hot weather prevailing during the day across most regions, extremely hot and humid over South Sinai and Upper Egypt, and warm, humid conditions at night and early morning.
Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of Forecasting and Early Warning at the Authority, said that morning mist is likely today from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. over areas from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo, which may be dense at times on highways leading to and from the northern coasts, the Delta, and the Canal cities.
Maritime navigation is expected to be disrupted in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez, with wind speeds ranging between 40–60 km/h and wave heights reaching 2–3.5 meters. Meanwhile, wind activity will be felt across much of the country, helping to moderate conditions at night in intervals.
The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 36°C in Cairo, 31°C in Alexandria, 30°C in Marsa Matruh, 43°C in Sohag, 45°C in Qena, and 47°C in Aswan.
