The Spokesperson for Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, stated that the epidemiological situation regarding respiratory viruses in Egypt is completely stable.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar added that the Ministry monitors daily the rates of seasonal respiratory infections (Seasonal Flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and other common viruses) across all governorates.
He affirmed that the rates of infection and hospital admissions remain within the expected annual averages for this time of the year, and there is no unusual spread or new virus that causes concern.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar clarified that the seasonal influenza vaccine is available at health units across the Republic.
He also mentioned that the preventive medicine and epidemiological surveillance teams are working around the clock in every governorate to ensure early detection of any changes in the epidemiological situation.
