Egypt's Armed Forces Chief of Staff Returns Home after Visit to Burundi

Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, returned to the homeland, after the end of his official visit to the Republic of Burundi, during which he chaired with Lieutenant General Prem Nyongabo, Chief of the Burundi National Defense Forces, the closing session of the second meeting of the Egyptian-Burundi Military Committee.

The committee's meetings resulted in consensus on developing aspects of military cooperation in the fields of training, qualification, transfer of expertise, and raising the military capabilities of the Burundian army to meet the challenges of national security and achieve the common interests of the Nile Basin countries.

Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, had an official reception ceremony, followed by a meeting with Lieutenant General Prem Nyongabo, Chief of the Burundian National Defense Forces, who praised the efforts of the members of the joint military committee between the two sides and the results it reached in the interest of the two countries and their armed forces and regional security and stability.
