The Egyptian Antiquities Registration Center published a new book in French entitled: “Le Grand Temple D’Abou Simpel Les Sales Nord Du Tresor,” meaning “The northern treasure chambers of the Great Abu Simbel Temple.”

Dr Hisham El-Leithy, head of the Central Administration for Recording Egyptian Antiquities, explained that the book begins with its introduction that deals with what the center has previously issued about the temple.

It includes what is in the current version of the northern treasure rooms in the temple, which contains the archaeological description and translation of hieroglyphic texts.

The book explains the architectural layout of the temple, referring to the location of the northern treasure chambers.

It also gives an archaeological description of the inscriptions and scenes, followed by the line drawings (facsimile), architectural maps, black and white pictures, in addition to a list of rituals offerings, names of deities, and stele.

The center has issued a set of books about this temple, including; The Battle of Kadesh (1971), The Temple Facade (1997), The Small Temple, Abu Simbel) 1968), and a memorial book about the temple, including photographs (1968).

The Great Temple of Abu Simbel is located in the Nubia region, on the western bank of Lake Nasser. It is one of the archaeological sites included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

It is also one of the temples that was moved from its original location to a place high above the surface of Lake Nasser at the time of the construction of the High Dam.
