The Egyptian imports of tea recorded a remarkable decline during the last period. The value of tea imports amounted to about EGP 263696000 ($16481000 last October), compared to EGP 412848000 ($25803000) in October 2019, a decline of $9322000, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
CAPMAS said that tea imports came within Egypt`s imports of non-durable consumer goods, whose total value amounted to about $11768000 last October, compared to 1243680000 in the same month in 2019, a decline of about $226612000.
Egypt`s imports of tea had recorded a remarkable increase, in conjunction with the continuation of the government measures related to the controls of opening cafes so far. The value of the Egyptian imports of tea reached about $19901000 last August, compared to $15578000 in August of In 2019, an increase of about $4323000.
The CAPMAS monthly bulletin of foreign trade data last October showed that the value of the trade balance deficit amounted to $2.9 billion during October 2020, compared to $4.1 billion for the same month in 2019, a decrease of 28.8%.
