Egyptian hospitals have received more than 107,000 Palestinians since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, including large numbers of wounded patients and their companions, according to reports from North Sinai

Ayman Emad, reporting from outside Al-Arish General Hospital, said the hospital is one of four medical facilities in North Sinai that were prepared as primary reception points for Palestinian patients entering Egyptian territory as part of Egypt’s nationwide health sector emergency plan.

He noted that Egyptian hospitals across the country have treated tens of thousands of Palestinians over recent months, with medical services extended not only to the injured and sick but also to accompanying family members.

Emad said Egyptian state institutions have provided comprehensive support to Palestinians, particularly in the healthcare sector, alongside daily living assistance for companions, including accommodation, food, and clothing.

Al-Arish General Hospital, he added, is equipped with more than 220 beds, including 30 intensive care units, and has been fully mobilized to deliver medical care to Palestinian casualties. The hospital has also been reinforced with large numbers of doctors and nursing staff working in rotating shifts to ensure continuous medical coverage.

He highlighted the central role played by the city of Al-Arish, which also hosts the Egyptian Red Crescent’s logistics center. The facility serves as a key hub for receiving and sorting humanitarian aid arriving through Egyptian ports or overland routes before coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent and relevant authorities to dispatch priority assistance into Palestinian territories.
