Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, initiated his current visit to the United Arab Emirates by holding a comprehensive meeting with representatives of the Egyptian expatriate community on Saturday at the Egyptian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
This meeting underscores his commitment to maintaining direct and continuous communication with Egyptian communities abroad during his international visits.
According to Ambassador Ahmed Abou Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Director of Public Diplomacy, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s profound interest in its citizens abroad and the importance of strengthening their ties to their homeland.
He highlighted his aim to enhance actual communication between Egyptian expatriates and the Egyptian missions worldwide.
In this context, the Foreign Minister emphasized his directive for all ambassadors and heads of missions abroad to prioritize consular issues and address the needs of the Egyptian communities.
He outlined the Ministry's efforts to coordinate with national entities to improve and digitalize consular services using modern technology, ensuring high quality and rapid service delivery, following the directives of Egypt’s political leadership which prioritizes the welfare of its citizens.
The spokesperson added that Dr. Abdelatty also discussed the ongoing coordination between Egypt and the UAE regarding Egyptian citizens working in the UAE, praising the care and attention they receive from the UAE authorities at both official and community levels.
He commended the Egyptian expatriate community for their role in advancing the mutual interests of both nations, and for acting as ambassadors who strengthen the close ties between the two brotherly countries.
Ambassador Abou Zeid concluded his statement by noting that Minister Abdelatty took time at the end of the meeting to interact directly with community members, listening to their views and suggestions. He reaffirmed the Egyptian state’s highest priority in caring for the interests of its citizens wherever they may be.
