Egyptian Cotton Production Increases 30% in 2021- IDSC

Egypt succeeded in increasing its cotton production by 30% in 2021, according to the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

On the occasion of World Cotton Day on October 7, the center said on Wednesday that Egypt has also succeeded in producing colored cotton and became one of the leading countries in this field, revive the production and cultivation of cotton.

Each ton of cotton could create six job opportunities along the year, the report said, adding that the feddan of this key crop could result in hiring 70 farmers on a daily basis, it said.

The report explained that each ton of cotton could create six jobs annually, adding that a feddan could help employ 70 farmers per day.
