Council of Ministers Media Center published statistics which highlights the growth in Egypt’s agricultural exports in 2018.
Cotton exports increased by 18.9% to reach $201 million in 2018, compared to $169 million in 2017. There was also increase in the rate of exports by 38.4% to reach $ 59.63 million in 2018, compared to 43.09 million in 2017. Date exports rate rose by 254.4% to reach $ 31.33 million in 2018, compared to $ 8.84 million in 2017.
Meanwhile, citrus exports rose 11.1% to $ 27.44 million in 2018, compared with $ 24.69 million in 2017. Orange exports rose by 22.1% to $ 664.97 million in 2018, compared to $ 544.73 million in 2017.
Egyptian Agricultural Exports
The tomato rate exports increased by 28.5% to reach $41.25 million in 2018, compared to $ 32.09 million in 2017.
In addition self was-sufficiency in products, vegetables and fruit in 2017, the orange rate was 176.9%, strawberry 167.9%, peanut 130.4%, onion 129.6%, potato 118.1%, green bean 117.2%, artichoke 113.4 grapes 107.4%, mango 105.5%, garlic 104.3%, tomatoes 103.5%, cucumbers 102.4%, bananas 102.2%, 100.9% green peppers, 100.5% peas and eggs 100.2%.
