Egypt Wins 2nd Edition of Cairo Int'l Biennale Award for Children's Arts

Under the auspices of Egypt’s First Lady Entisar El Sisi, and under the slogan of “A Picture from My Country”, artist, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, handed over the prizes of the second Edition of Cairo International Biennale for Children’s Arts- which is organized by The Plastic Arts Sector headed Dr. Khaled Sorour –The head of the Biennial - in cooperation with " Amsya Association For Education via Arts" . The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sariya Sedky, Head of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Ahmed Hatem Saeed, General Commissar and an array of plastic arts and media professionals .

Abdel-Dayem, thanked Egypt’s First Lady, for her generous sponsorship of the biennale and her support for the activities aiming at building the Egyptian personality to safeguard and preserve the entity and capabilities of our nation.

Abdel Dayem added that the Biennale Awards encourage the promising creators and motivate them to practice all kinds of arts realizing their value and beauty.

Furthermore, the minister congratulated the winners for the outstanding creative level of their works, appreciating the efforts of all the organizers and participants- especially those with special abilities who added positive imaginative energy to the activities.

She confirmed organizing an exhibition of the winning works in The Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome.

On his part, Dr. Khaled Sorour, Head of The Plastic Arts Sector, dedicated Dr. Abdel Dayem the shield of the second Edition of Cairo International Biennale for Children's Arts, as a sign of his gratitude for her efforts and great support to enrich the Egyptian plastic movement.

It is worthy of note that the 15 prizes are given to winners from 5 age groups, in addition to 38 certificates of appreciation given as an encouragement prizes to some distinguish participants and promising talents.

The awards were given as the following:-

- Group from 4 to 5 years old

The first prizes - as a teamwork -was given to : Jamila Mustafa Hassan, Farida Ahmed Fouad, Cenada Tariq Aziz, Laila Shoukry, Lara Alaa Nasser, Junior Baher Medhat, Lara Sherif, Badr Mustafa, Noura Tarek, Farida Tariq Ahmed, Nayla Ahmed Atef, Laila Ahmed Sharif, Amina Tariq Kurdi, Youssef Muhammad, Hana Sharaf Abu Al-Nasr.

-The second prize - as an inpidual work -was given to Hajar Ahmed Ibrahim.

-The third prize - an inpidual work -was given to Ali Akhmetov from Bulgaria.

- Group from 6 to 9 years old

The first prize - an inpidual work- was given to Malika Tamer Ashry.

-The second prize - an inpidual work- was given to Daniil Bychkov from Russia.

-The third prize -an inpidual work- was given to Sarah Ahmed from Canada.

In addition, 38 contestants from 21 countries won "special jury prizes" with financial prizes and certificates of appreciation as an encouragement prizes for many promising talents.

It is noteworthy that Cairo International Biennale for Children’s Arts will continue until 18 August in the halls of Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center – in the Faculty of Art Education of Helwan University in Zamalek.

The Biennale is held with the participation of 688 children - under 18 years old and with the participation of the children of special needs from 25 countries , one work for each participant, including 350 children from Egypt.
