A significant step in Turkish-Egyptian defense cooperation was announced in Cairo as an agreement was signed for the joint production of Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (VTOL-UAVs). The deal was concluded between the Turkish defense technologies company HAVELSAN and Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), marking an important milestone in bilateral industrial and defense collaboration.
Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen congratulated both sides on this achievement, highlighting it as a new chapter in strengthening cooperation between Ankara and Cairo. He noted that the initiative reflects the growing trust and synergy between the two countries in the fields of high technology and defense manufacturing.
In addition to the UAV agreement, the production of unmanned ground vehicles has also officially begun, following a partnership between HAVELSAN and the Egyptian Kadir Factory, underscoring the widening scope of joint defense industry projects.
