Egypt to Inaugurate the Grand Egyptian Museum on July 3

On Tuesday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has approved the official inauguration date for the long-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), set for July 3, 2025.

The announcement came during a high-level meeting chaired by Madbouly to review the ongoing preparations for this landmark event.

The meeting was attended by several key government officials, including Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh Hefny, Minister of Culture Ahmed Hano, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber Khalil, Giza Governor Adel El-Naggar, and other senior representatives from the ministries and security agencies.

Also present were Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, and media executives from the United Media Services Company overseeing the event’s coverage.

Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the global significance of the Grand Egyptian Museum’s opening, stating that the inauguration will be a multi-day international celebration designed to highlight Egypt’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.

He noted that multiple ministries and agencies have been assigned specific responsibilities to ensure that the event is executed flawlessly, positioning Egypt as a premier global tourism and cultural destination.

During the meeting, Mohamed Saadi, a board member of United Media Services, presented a detailed agenda for the event. The celebration will include an exclusive invitation process for world leaders, royalty, top officials, and renowned figures from around the globe.

Additionally, the event’s program will feature a range of cultural and artistic performances, showcasing Egypt’s historical and modern artistic achievements.
