The Libyan Football Federation announced on Tuesday that the Libyan Cup final, between Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Ahli Benghazi, will be held in Egypt.
The Libyan Football Federation resorted to a draw on Tuesday to determine the host country for the 2024-2025 Libyan Cup final and the Super Cup final for the same season. This came after Al-Ahli Tripoli insisted on Tunisia as the venue for both competitions, while Al-Ahli Benghazi preferred Egypt.
The draw resulted in Egypt being chosen to host both the Cup final and the Super Cup final. The official dates for these matches will be announced after coordination with the Egyptian authorities regarding security and organizational procedures, stadium bookings, accommodation, training facilities, and other logistical matters.
The Al-Ahli Tripoli vs. Al-Ahli Benghazi match will also feature an Egyptian coaching presence on the sidelines, with Hossam El-Badry managing Al-Ahli Tripoli and Tarek Mostafa managing Al-Ahli Benghazi.
Al-Ahli Benghazi secured their place in the Libyan Cup final after defeating Al-Akhdar. Al-Ahli Benghazi triumphed 3-1 on penalties in the semi-final match, following a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Meanwhile, Al-Ahli Tripoli advanced to the final after defeating Al-Ittihad.
Hossam El-Badry was awarded the title of Best Coach in Libya for the 2024/2025 season, following the significant improvement in Al-Ahli Tripoli's performance since the Egyptian coach took charge.
Al-Ahli Tripoli dominated the individual awards, with Hamdou Elhouni winning Best Winger, Azzedine Al-Maryami Best Striker, and Ayman Al-Tihar Best Goalkeeper.
