Egypt to Hold Massive Economic Event in April 2024

The Egyptian government has recently announced its plan to organize a massive economic event in April 2024 to attract more foreign investments to the local market.

The government hopes to tackle the challenges that have been impeding the work of investors and to promote the vast investment opportunities in Egypt, especially after the recent decisions made under the guidance of the political leadership.

During a meeting with Valdis Dombrovskis, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission and European Trade Commissioner, Prime Minister Mostfa Madbouly confirmed that the National Investment Conference will take place in Egypt in April 2024.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the "Global Gateway Forum" in Brussels, in the presence of Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty, the Egyptian Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, and a number of Commission officials.

They discussed facilitating bilateral trade, particularly in agri-food exploring a Sustainable Investment Facilitation Agreement, and supporting the economic reform agenda.

Madbouly praised the close partnership between Egypt and the European Commission. He also highlighted the ongoing arrangements for the National Investment Conference and expressed Egypt's aspiration for the European Commission to be a partner in this important event.
