Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi concluded a two-day official visit to Kuwait, at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

The visit underscored the enduring brotherly ties and growing strategic partnership between the two nations.

In a joint statement issued following the visit, Egypt expressed deep appreciation to Kuwait for its official support of Dr. Khaled El-Anani’s candidacy for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the 2025–2029 term. The nomination of Dr. El-Anani, Egypt’s former Minister of Antiquities and a respected academic and heritage expert, reflects Cairo’s commitment to global cultural leadership.

The joint statement emphasized the mutual support Egypt and Kuwait continue to extend to one another in various international forums, noting that such cooperation is a pillar of their bilateral relationship and shared regional interests.

Both sides reaffirmed their close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and reiterated the need to uphold the principles of peace, dialogue, and diplomacy in addressing conflicts across the Middle East. They stressed the importance of promoting peaceful coexistence, regional stability, and respect for the sovereignty of states, while rejecting all forms of external interference in internal affairs.
