Three Egyptian military aircrafts loaded with medical supplies have just arrived at Rafik Hariri International airport, as part of the air bridge Egypt has extended to Lebanon in the wake of the massive warehouse explosion at Beirut Port.
In a press conference upon her arrival, Egypt's Health Minister Hala Zayed said that she arrived in Lebanon, carrying a message of love and solidarity from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and all Egyptians.
She continued: "Under the directives of President Sisi, this air bridge will continue as long as there is a need and a pandemic in Lebanon."
Moreover, Zayed added that she will inspect the Egyptian field hospital in Beirut, noting that the hospital has provided services to more than 100,000 Lebanese for free.
Zayed was received by Dr. Hamad Hassan, the Lebanese Minister of Health, and Dr. Yasser Alawi, Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon.
The aid includes 16,000 tons of baby formula and 15,000 tonnes of protection supplies such as (surgical masks, protective eyewear, and others), as well as coronavirus protocol medication to support Lebanon’s health sector in combating the Coronavirus crisis.
