Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the Egyptian government seeks to resume natural gas exports by 2027, noting that the state's efforts continue to enhance the productivity of Egyptian fields.
In this context, Madbouly revealed during the government meeting, Thursday, that next February will witness the start of production by BP from two wells in Egypt, which will enhance national efforts in the energy sector.
He also announced the drilling of 105 new wells during the past two months, 95 of which are for oil and 10 for gas, thanks to the regular payment of dues to foreign companies, which will provide Egypt with imports of petroleum products worth $1.5 billion.
He explained that the government continues to work on developing all economic sectors, as Egyptian exports witnessed remarkable growth in 2024, recording about $41 billion. The government also approved the terms and conditions for the EGP 30 billion industry support initiative, to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian industry.
