Communications and Information Technology Minister Raafat Hindi said Egypt is working to strengthen cooperation with African and Arab countries to expand the impact of artificial intelligence projects, stressing that countries of the Global South must contribute to shaping the global AI transformation through a common vision.

Speaking during the leaders’ session of the AI Impact Summit 2026, hosted by India, Hindi said Egypt supports responsible and human-centered use of artificial intelligence to promote development and shared prosperity. He confirmed Egypt’s support for the summit’s New Delhi Declaration.

Hindi noted that Egypt adopted a national AI strategy in 2019 to integrate AI applications into sectors including healthcare, education, justice, and government services. He said these efforts have improved Egypt’s standing in international AI readiness indicators.

He added that Egypt is participating in shaping the summit’s outcomes and serves as co-chair of the AI Resource Democracy Working Group, as part of efforts to advance global cooperation and governance in artificial intelligence.
