On Thursday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 911 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 334751.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 18889 nationwide after the ministry announced 57 deaths.
About 763 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 281325.
The country’s fourth wave of the virus is in full force, with daily case figures ten times higher than what was recorded at the end of July.
Egypt plans to vaccinate 40 million citizens by the end of the year, representing around 40% of the population.
