Egypt reigned supreme and cemented their dominance in the 64 kg pision in the African Weightlifting Championship. Esraa Rashed was able to win 2 gold medals and a silver after lifting 98 kg in the snatch and broke the record in the clean and jerk after lifting 110 kg, thus winning gold with a combined total of 208 kg.
Nema Saeed came in second place after lifting 91 kg in the Snatch and won a gold medal after lifting 111 kg in the Clean to earn a total of 202 kg. Tunisian lifer Ehsan Shabby won third place after lifting 89 kg in the snatch and 110 kg in the clean to earn a combined total of 199.
The 29th African Championships for qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, is currently being held from 23 to 30 April at the Cairo International Stadium.
