The Acting Chargé d'Affairs at the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo, Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Al-Tom, has announced that the Egyptian authorities have decided to offer a 3-year residency permit to Sudanese residents in Cairo who arrived before 1995 AD.

He has urged Sudanese nationals concerned to complete their residency procedures as soon as possible, noting that the authorities have also reduced the fees for Sudanese residents to only EGP500 for the 3-year permit.

Recently, the government of Egypt has extended the deadline for Sudanese citizens to regulate their legal status in the country by six months. This new deadline will provide them with more time to complete the necessary process.

During a recent meeting, the Cabinet approved several decisions on various matters, including expatriate residency regulation, waste management, healthcare, and transportation of equipment outside tax-exempt economic zones.
