Ayman Hossam El-Din, head of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) stated that in light of the candy manufacturer "Ferrero" recall of some Kinder chocolate products, after 63 poisoning cases in Britain, Egypt recalled the surprise eggs from markets; as a precaution to collect samples of the aforementioned chocolate to ensure that it is free of salmonella.

The head of the agency said that although there were no reports that Egypt imported any batch of production suspected of causing salmonella disease, this procedure aims to ensure the safety of the products on health and that they are free of any components that may harm the health and safety of citizens.

Hossam El-Din stressed that suspicious production line was produced in Belgium and were sold in some European countries, not including Egypt. However, it is not possible to be negligent in making sure that any product in the Egyptian market does not cause harm to the safety of citizens.

He said that the results of the analysis of samples will be announced as soon as they are received from the central laboratories of the Ministry of Health, in application of the principle of transparency.
