Egypt’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Migration and Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, reaffirmed Egypt’s appreciation for the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) and its pioneering role as the first international arbitration institution dedicated to resolving disputes peacefully.

The minister’s remarks came during his meeting in Cairo with Marcin Czepelak, Secretary-General of the PCA, where both sides praised the strong and longstanding cooperation between Egypt and the court.

Abdelatty commended the “distinguished partnership” between Egypt and the PCA Secretariat, noting that many Egyptian arbitrators have contributed to the court’s work over the years. He also underscored Egypt’s readiness to provide full support to facilitate the PCA’s mission in resolving international and investment disputes through peaceful and lawful means, citing Egypt’s “extensive and well-established expertise in the field of international arbitration.”

In turn, Secretary-General Marcin Czepelak expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s regional and international role, describing the country as “a key state in the region and a gateway to Africa, the Middle East, and the Southern Mediterranean.”

He added that strengthening cooperation with Egypt is a strategic priority for the court as it continues to expand its global reach, highlighting Cairo’s prominent role in mediation, arbitration, and peaceful settlement of dispute.

The meeting reflected both parties’ shared commitment to advancing the rule of law in international relations and promoting dialogue as a foundation for global stability.
