Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, on Thursday received Major General Khaled Mostafa Tawfik, President of the Arab Federation of War Veterans and Victims of War, as part of Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting war veterans, victims of conflict, and the families of martyrs in recognition of their national sacrifices.

During the meeting, Abdelatty welcomed the federation’s president and praised the sacrifices made by war veterans in defence of national security and stability. He underlined the importance of the role played by the Arab Federation of War Veterans and Victims of War in supporting veterans, war victims, and the families of fallen soldiers across the Arab world.

The foreign minister also commended the federation’s efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination among Arab veterans’ associations, describing them as an important platform for preserving shared memory, solidarity, and mutual support among Arab nations.

Abdelatty further welcomed the cultural and awareness-raising dimension of the federation’s activities, expressing appreciation for the resumption of its general assembly meetings. He particularly praised the decision to hold the federation’s upcoming general assembly in Cairo in May 2025, highlighting Cairo’s continued role as a hub for Arab cooperation and collective action.
