Egypt Ready to Cooperate in Raising Road Network Efficiency in Tanzania

Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, discussed Tuesday joint cooperation with Tanzanian Minister of Works Innocent Bashungwa.

The Minister stressed the importance of joint cooperation in the field of industrial zones located in Tanzania, which aspire to increase the number of its factories or in the field of developing the port of Dar es Salaam or the current railway line, as well as cooperation in establishing a dry port and logistics areas in the Kuala region.

The two sides discussed, according to the ministry’s statement, the most important ways to connect the projects to each other, which is the internal road network in Tanzania, in addition to the main land road linking Egypt to Tanzania within the framework of the (Cairo/Cape Town) road, which passes through 10 African countries starting from the far north of Egypt. With a length of 1,158 kilometers, including the Federal Republic of Tanzania, approximately the same distance.

The Minister of Transport indicated that Egypt is currently working to complete development work to facilitate movement and trade between all African countries, noting that during his visit to the new Suez industrial zone in Tanzania, it became clear that it is required to be completed to connect the south and north with Tanzanian lands.

He stressed that Egypt has come a long way in developing roads, and that the Ministry is fully prepared to cooperate with the Tanzanian Ministry of Works in raising the efficiency and renewal of the internal road network in Tanzania in stages, especially the roads that serve industrial areas and logistics areas, in addition to cooperation in developing the Tanzanian sector of the Cairo - Cape town) road.

He said that the Ministry of Transport is also fully prepared to cooperate with the Tanzanian Ministry of Works in the field of education and training due to the presence of the National Institute of Transport and various Egyptian universities specialized in the field of constructing main roads and internal roads, as well as training in the use of modern equipment in constructing and maintaining roads as well as in other fields that specialize in It has the Tanzanian Ministry of Works such as bridges and government facilities in the construction of new buildings or maintenance of buildings.

The Minister invited the Tanzanian Minister of Works and the heads of affiliated bodies to visit Egypt and learn about everything new and everything Tanzania needs that exists inside Egypt.
