Egypt recently launched the first edition of the International Research Commercialization Expo (IRC EXPO 2025) in the New Administrative Capital, establishing the country as a global hub for promoting scientific research and advancing innovation.
Organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the expo was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. It coincides with the annual triple partnership meeting and general assembly of academic institutions, hosted this year by Egypt under the patronage of Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Ayman Ashour.
The expo serves as a strategic platform for researchers, allowing participants to explore cutting-edge innovative solutions and establish effective international partnerships. It also showcases successful collaborations between academia and industry, providing governments and institutions with a key venue to adopt modern technologies, enhance competitiveness, and support GDP growth as part of Egypt's initiative towards a creativity- and sustainability-driven economy.
Following the momentum of the Cairo International Innovation Fair, IRC EXPO 2025 will run for two days, featuring the latest technical initiatives, immersive demonstrations, and smart applications. The event aims to be a global meeting point for researchers, innovators, investors, and policymakers from around the world.
More than 25 countries are participating in the expo, which highlights over 250 global innovations. The program includes 20 panel discussions and 50 dedicated matchmaking meetings designed to facilitate production and marketing agreements between innovators and industry partners. Researchers will also present their project outcomes in 30 specialized forums and sessions attended by potential investors. Additionally, workshops will focus on collaborative learning, industry-oriented scientific research applications, and mechanisms for technology transfer that turn university research into economically viable projects.
