Egypt Jump 9 Positions in FIFA July Rankings

Egypt climbed nine places in the FIFA global football rankings for July, up to 49th after placing 58th last month.

Algeria's national team, who claimed the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations title, climbed 28 spots to come in the 40th position. The Desert warriors maintained a fourth place among the African countries.

The two-time title holders pulled off seven victories in their clashes at AFCON achieving 117 points. Algeria ended their 29-year wait for an Africa Cup of Nations title by beating Senegal 1-0 to win the 2019 tournament in Egypt.

Senegal is leading the African nations in the 20th place, ahead of Tunisia (29), Nigeria(33), Algeria(40), Morocco(41), and Egypt(49).

The Pharaohs were knocked-out form the 2019 AFCON, after suffering a shock defeat by South Africa in the last 16 of the tournament (0-1).

The seven-time African Champions managed to secure three victories in the group stage against Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and Uganda, before their shocking exit from the tournament.

Belgium remained on top of the FIFA global rankings ahead of Brazil (2nd), France(3rd), England(4th), and Uruguay(5th).
