Egypt and Jordan have warned of the danger posed by illegal Israeli measures in the "occupied" West Bank, stating that such actions push the situation toward an explosion and undermine all de-escalation efforts and prospects for achieving a just peace.
During a phone call, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi emphasized that a just peace must be based on the two-state solution as the sole path to achieving security, stability, and lasting peace in the region.
The two nations called for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the full implementation of its terms in accordance with President Donald Trump's plan, stressing the necessity of delivering sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid and proceeding toward the second phase of the agreement.
Both ministers also highlighted the importance of announcing the formation of a Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the Strip, the deployment of an international stability force, and the creation of necessary conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.
They further stressed the need to maintain the unity of Palestinian territories between the West Bank and Gaza, linking stability efforts to a clear political horizon.
Regarding the situations in Syria and Lebanon, the ministers affirmed the importance of achieving security and stability in Syria while respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
They also demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon, ensuring its security, stability, and sovereignty, and supporting its national institutions.
Furthermore, the ministers expressed their total rejection of Israel’s announcement of its recognition of "Somaliland," affirming their full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia as a fundamental pillar for stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
Additionally, the ministers affirmed their support for all efforts aimed at achieving de-escalation in Yemen and supporting a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue to ensure the country’s security and sovereignty
On the level of bilateral relations, the two ministers reaffirmed the depth and strength of the historic brotherly ties between Egypt and Jordan, expressing a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation in various economic and investment fields and building upon existing coordination mechanisms to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.
