Egypt Heightens Security Measures Nationwide ahead of Christmas, New Year Celebrations

Security directorates have activated a strategy aimed to maintain security nationwide ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Security personnel were deployed in main streets, squares, around vital institutions and places of worship to maintain security, and secure celebrations, and respond decisively to those who try to disturb the public celebrations.

The Ministry of Interior has adopted a strategy to enhance the security presence, deploy security barriers to monitor the situation in streets across the country, and provide deployment forces in vital areas.

It has also deployed inspection personnel, intelligence and police units to assist with inspections and tighten the security grip.
