Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh expressed their mutual appreciation for the current level of bilateral relations and political consultations between their countries, during a phone call on Thursday.

The call comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the distinguished ties between Egypt and Eritrea. Both ministers affirmed their shared commitment to building upon the significant progress achieved in recent years and to expanding cooperation across various fields, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, who have both stressed the importance of deepening bilateral collaboration.

Foreign Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s full support for Eritrea’s development projects, emphasizing the strong historical and fraternal bonds linking the two nations. He also highlighted Egypt’s keen interest in contributing effectively to Eritrea’s efforts to promote development and stability.

During the conversation, the two ministers also discussed several regional issues of mutual concern, particularly developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.

Both sides agreed on the need to maintain close coordination and joint cooperation to strengthen security and stability across the region.
