Egypt’s Foreign Ministry announced the successful evacuation of 293 Egyptian nationals stranded in Lebanon amid escalating tensions, bringing the total number of Egyptians repatriated to 883. The evacuation, conducted via special flights by EgyptAir, is part of Egypt’s broader efforts to support Lebanese citizens and its own nationals in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression. The Egyptian Embassy in Beirut continues to accept requests from Egyptians wishing to return, preparing them for inclusion on upcoming flights.
Egypt has also dispatched a third shipment of humanitarian aid to Lebanon as part of an air bridge initiative directed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to assist Lebanon during the ongoing crisis. The latest shipment, which arrived at Beirut Airport on Wednesday, included 23 tons of essential supplies, such as food, medicine, and relief items.
This delivery raises the total amount of Egyptian aid sent to Lebanon to 67 tons. Representatives from both the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut and the Lebanese government were present to receive the shipment, alongside officials from the Lebanese Relief Authority.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry emphasized that it is actively coordinating with national authorities to ease the impact of the conflict on both Egyptian citizens and displaced Lebanese families. In addition to evacuations and aid deliveries, Egypt has intensified diplomatic efforts to secure an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon, aiming to mitigate the humanitarian toll of the conflict.
The Egyptian Embassy in Beirut remains in close contact with Egyptian nationals to provide all necessary assistance. In addition to arranging evacuation flights, the embassy is offering consular services to support Egyptians facing difficulties due to the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon.
