On Wednesday, Egypt condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of a bill allowing the return of settlers to four settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories that were dismantled in 2005.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Egypt stressed that settlement activity in all its forms and manifestations is illegal and void of legitimacy, which is confirmed by the decisions of international legitimacy and the rules of international law.
The statement indicated that such decisions and legislation impede the ongoing efforts to achieve calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, fuel feelings of injustice and anger among the Palestinian people, and complicate the political and security climate in the occupied Palestinian territories every day.
