Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned recent Israeli airstrikes on sites in Syria, describing them as a blatant violation of international law and an infringement on Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The condemnation was reported by Cairo News Channel in an urgent statement.
In its official remarks, the ministry reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance against any actions that undermine the sovereignty of nations and destabilize regional security. "The Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory constitute yet another flagrant breach of international law and an unacceptable assault on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial unity," the statement declared.
Separately, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry also denounced Israel’s targeting of a clinic operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jabalia, calling it a "blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law."
"Egypt strongly condemns Israel’s deliberate targeting of UN agencies, humanitarian organizations, and medical facilities," the ministry stated, emphasizing the urgent need to protect humanitarian infrastructure in conflict zones.
The statement further called on influential international actors to abandon "double standards" and take decisive action to curb Israeli violations. "We urge the global community to hold Israel accountable for its continuous disregard of international legal frameworks and to put an end to these unlawful practices," the ministry urged.
Egypt’s condemnation comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with ongoing international concerns over Israel’s military actions in both Syria and the Palestinian territories. The Egyptian government reiterated its commitment to regional stability and its continued diplomatic efforts to de-escalate conflicts and uphold international legal norms.
