Egypt's Foreign Ministry has vehemently condemned the heinous hate crime that resulted in the death of a 6-year-old Palestinian boy and severely injured his mother in Illinois, USA. The tragedy was reportedly the consequence of a racially motivated assault by a bigoted individual.
U.S. authorities have identified the incident as a hate crime, revealing that the child was stabbed 26 times by a 71-year-old man from Illinois. During the attack, the assailant allegedly uttered anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian slurs. The mother, aged 32, also sustained grave injuries during the assault.
The Egyptian ministry further denounced the escalation of incendiary campaigns, remarks, and provocations targeting Palestinians, their representatives, and embassies in several countries. They expressed grave concern about the potential ramifications of such campaigns aimed at maligning the image of Palestinians and their just cause. The ministry called upon nations worldwide to counter these agendas, ensuring that those promoting such hatred and the entities backing them are penalized.
The police department of Will County, Illinois, in a statement released on social media platforms, confirmed that both victims in this gruesome attack were specifically targeted due to their Muslim faith and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Hamas and Israelis.
