Celebrating the 72nd Anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that Thursday, 25th of July, will be a paid holiday for both public and private sector employees.
According to a statement recently issued by the cabinet, Thursday, 25th of July will be a paid official holiday for employees in ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, and the private sector.
Starting from 2020, the Egyptian government has decided to move public holidays (except for Eid El-Fitr, Eid El-Adha, and Coptic Christmas) to Thursdays whenever they fall on a different weekday, in order to provide citizens with longer weekends.
On Wednesday، 17 July, the Egyptian Ambassador to Malaysia, Ragaai Nasr, mentioned that there has been significant progress in Egyptian-Malaysian relations in 2023. This statement was made during a reception hosted by Nasr to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.
He welcomed statesmen and diplomats accredited in Malaysia. The also ambassador highlighted a visit by the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Egypt in 2023, as well as a telephone call between the two leaders.
Meanwhile, Egypt's Ambassador in Paris, Alaa Youssef, noted that celebrating the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution reflects the honor of Egypt's struggle and its firm principles, which led to rectifying the track once again during the June 30 Revolution, laying down the pillars of the new republic.
In his address at a reception organized by the embassy on the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, Ambassador Youssef highlighted that the event represented a turning point in modern Egyptian history. He also mentioned that it has served as an example for freedom and independence to many countries around the world.
The event was attended by numerous high-level French officials, senate members, ambassadors accredited in France and UNESCO, as well as a large number of the Egyptian community living in France.
Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized Egypt's efforts to enhance its economic capabilities and attract foreign investments in various economic sectors, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
The 23rd of July Revolution in 1952 marked a change in the form of government from a monarchy to a republic.
