CAPMS: Deposits in CBE Until the End of August Grew in Value by 28%

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS) showed an increase in the value of deposits with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), reaching 7.6 trillion pounds until the end of August 2022, compared to 6 trillion pounds during the same period in 2021, an increase of 28%.

The value of government deposits with the Central Bank was recorded at 1.6 trillion pounds until the end of August 2022, or 20.8% of total deposits, compared to 1.1 trillion pounds during the same period in 2021, an increase of 38.5%.

The value of non-governmental deposits with the Central Bank amounted to 6.1 trillion pounds until the end of August 2022, or 79.2% of total deposits, compared to 4.8 trillion pounds during the same period in 2021, an increase of 25.5%.

The net foreign reserves amounted to $33.5 billion as of the end of November 2022.
