Egypt is following with great interest the recent developments on the Yemeni scene, and expresses its concern about the risks of a possible escalation and its repercussions on the security and stability of Yemen, and the consequences that may affect the security of the entire region.

Egypt reiterated its firm position in support of the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, and the need to preserve national state institutions and safeguard the resources of the Yemeni people, stressing that providing comprehensive solutions that address the roots of the crisis is the only way to end the conflict and achieve the aspirations of Yemenis for security, stability and development.

Egypt stressed the importance of prioritizing dialogue and logic, the need to achieve calm and restraint, avoid taking any unilateral actions that threaten security and stability, and work to support efforts aimed at reducing escalation.

Egypt also reiterated its commitment to working towards a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement to the Yemeni crisis by continuing contacts with all concerned parties, based on national dialogue for all components of the Yemeni people within a framework of consensus and respect for Yemeni national constants, in a way that contributes to strengthening the unity of position, protecting Arab national security, and consolidating security and stability in the region.
