The Egyptian government approved the free trade agreement between the governments of Egypt and the Republic of Serbia, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office.
The agreement was announced during President Abdel Fattah elSisi's visit to Serbia in 2022 and was signed in 2024, on the sidelines of the Serbian president's to Egypt.
This comes within the two countries interest to boost trade, industry and investments, in addition to boosting economic relations; in light of the capabilities that the two countries enjoy.
The agreement aims to double the volume of trade between the two countries over the next 5 years, compared to the current value of $89 million, according to previous statements by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
