The Egyptian Football Association have officially appointed Khaled El-Darandaly, the federation’s vice president, as head of Egypt’s delegation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The decision confirms that El-Darandaly will lead the national team during their trip to the United States, where the tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Egypt national football team will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
The Pharaohs are also scheduled to play a high-profile friendly against Brazil on June 7 in preparation for the tournament, following a 1–0 friendly win over Russia in Cairo earlier this week.
The team will begin its World Cup campaign after completing its final phase of preparation ahead of the global tournament.
