Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathi, and Italy’s Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, inaugurated the Italian Hospitality School in the Red Sea city of Hurghada. The opening ceremony was attended by Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi, Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michele Quaroni, Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, Jordanian Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, and Kamel Abu Ali, Chairman of the Red Sea Investors Association, alongside Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
Minister Sherif Fathi emphasized the importance of developing human resources in the tourism and hospitality sectors, underscoring the Egyptian government’s full support for initiatives that enhance the training and qualifications of industry professionals. Fathi described the new school as a model for cultural exchange between Egypt and Italy, particularly in tourism and hotel management.
“This school represents an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise between Egypt and Italy, fostering the development of our workforce in a vital sector,” said Fathi.
Italian Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè highlighted the value of the new hospitality school in promoting cultural connections between the two nations. She expressed enthusiasm for further discussions with her Egyptian counterpart on expanding similar projects.
“The Italian Hospitality School will bring young people from our two countries closer together, strengthening ties through education and shared experiences,” Santanchè stated.
Kamel Abu Ali, Chairman of the Red Sea Investors Association, emphasized that the Italian Hospitality School is the first of its kind in Egypt. He added that the project would deepen cooperation between Egypt and Italy by transferring Italian expertise to the Egyptian tourism industry.
Dr. Tarek El-Gendy, a key figure involved in the project, explained that the school consists of three floors equipped with classrooms, training spaces, and lecture halls.
