The Central Bank of Egypt said on Wednesday that the Egyptian pound rose against the US dollar to its highest level since March 2017.
Official data showed that the dollar recorded an average price of EGP 17.02 to buy and EGP 17.12 for sale.
BLOM Bank Egypt offered the highest price for dollar purchases at EGP 17.27.
However, Commercial International Bank (CIB) offered the lowest price at EGP 17.09 to buy and EGP 16.99 pounds for purchase.
For more than 2 years, the EGP value has been appreciating against the US currency.
The greenback fell by two piastres at Banque Misr, the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and the Arab African International Bank to settle at EGP 17.1 for purchase and EGP 17.10 for selling.
In addition, prices stood at EGP 17 and EGP 17.10 at the Bank of Alexandria.
