CAIRO, Dec. 2 (SEE)- The Managing Director of Eastern tobacco company Hany Aman revealed on Sunday that the Ministry of Finance's decision to raise the Customs' dollar exchange rate will not affect imported tobacco components' prices.
"The decision will only be applied to finished imported cigarettes," Aman said.
The Ministry's decision to fix the customs' dollar with the central bank's exchange rate was issued during today's session.
Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said that the dollar price of non-essential and recreational goods is fixed to the central bank's exchange rate.
"luxury supplies including vehicles, electronics, seafood, liquor, pets, plants, cosmetics, finished tobacco products, in addition to other goods which has a local substitute will imply with the new fixed rate," Aman pointed out.
The implemented new rate came in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
