On Thursday, British renowned singer Dua Lipa endorsed the well-known Muslim politician Sadiq Khan in the 2021 London mayoral race.
According to English media, Lipa, 25, who is the most nominated artist at next month’s Brit Awards, took to her official Twitter account and write: “London calling! It’s time to re-elect Sadiq Khan as our mayor.”
In a statement, the prominent star indicated: “London has a really important set of elections coming up on May 6 and this is your chance to make sure your voice is heard and we can re-elect Sadiq Khan as our mayor."
“It actually couldn’t be simpler but don’t delay – the deadline to apply is April 20. So join me and thousands of other people of London and vote by post to make sure we re-elect Sadiq," the statement added.
It's worth noting that the British Pakistani man was elected Mayor of London at the 2016 mayoral election, at which he resigned as an MP.
Lately, Khan has been included in the Time 100 list of most influential people in the world.
On the other hand, lipa is a receptionist of numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, and an American Music Award.
