Several drones targeted fuel storage tanks at the Port of Salalah in Oman, while others were intercepted by air defenses, according to a security source cited by the Oman News Agency.
The agency reported Wednesday that multiple drones were successfully shot down, while other unmanned aircraft struck fuel tanks at the port. Authorities confirmed that no human casualties were recorded as a result of the incident.
Omani officials said relevant security and defense agencies are continuing efforts to monitor and counter what they described as hostile drone attacks.
The Port of Salalah, one of Oman’s most important maritime and logistics hubs, plays a key role in regional shipping routes and energy transport across the Arabian Sea and the wider Indian Ocean region.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the origin of the drones or the extent of the damage to the fuel facilities.
