Megamind is making a return on Peacock in a sequel and a television show.
Dreamworks' classic villain-turned-hero Megamind debut in 2010, with Will Ferrell in the title role as a supervillain with a huge brain who eventually learns to be heroic.
The cast was also stacked, with David Cross as his best friend Minion, Brad Pitt as Superman-gure Metro Man, Tina Fey as headstrong reporter Roxanne Ritchi, and Jonah Hill as the real villain, Hal/Titan.
It is considered a classic by DreamWorks animation - a hilarious and endearing story that immediately captivated viewers.
The movie was an undeniable hit, making $322 million worldwide.
While the movie has spawned a multimedia franchise that includes three video games, a short film, and a comic book series, there haven't been any further installments since 2011 beyond appearances by Megamind in DreamWorks branded games like 2019's "Dreamworks Universe of Legends".
The upcoming sequel titled "Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate", follows Megamind as he traverses life as a hero, takes on a young crime-fighting apprentice, and fights against the new evil: his former group, the Doom Syndicate.
Peacock Kids on YouTube has dropped the trailer for the pic.
It opens with a refresher on how Megamind came to become a hero, then introducing a young girl who acts as Megamind's biggest fan and soon-to-be apprentice. The Doom Syndicate is then introduced as the antagonists of the film with one catch: they think Megamind is still a villain. It's up to Metro City's primary hero to play along until he can figure out a way to stop him.
The movie is set to be followed by the TV show "Megamind Rules!".
The series consists of eight episodes, each 22 minutes.
The movie will premiere beforehand, and is supposed to be watched before the series.
While explicit details on the series are still sparse, viewers will be able to binge it as soon as the movie releases, which will be made available at the same time.
"Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate" and "Megamind Rules!" will be debut on Peacock on March 1.
