A potential sequel to the critically acclaimed 2009 horror movie "Drag Me to Hell" is currently being discussed.

The movie was American actor Sam Raimir's return to the horror genre after leaving it behind to helm movies such as the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, "A Simple Plan", and "For the Love of the Game".

It followed a young banker called Christine (Alison Lohman) who is cursed by an old woman (Lorna Raver) when she refuses to offer her an extension on her mortgage. While she attempts to learn how to reverse the curse, she is haunted by a demon known as the Lamia.

However, despite Christine's best efforts to escape her terrifying fate, she still ended up dragged to the pit of fire—with her boyfriend Clay (Justin Long) witnessing this deeply disturbing event.

While promoting the release of the sci-fi movie "65" starring Adam Driver, Raimi—who co-produces the movie—participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread along with 65 directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

One of the questions he was asked was if there were plans for another Drag Me to Hell-related story. The filmmaker revealed that a story is currently being developed by Ghost House Pictures' Romel Adam and Jose Canas and he's "anxious to hear" if they can "come up with a story that would work."

"The team at Ghost House Pictures: Romel Adam and Jose Canas, are trying to come up with a story that would work, and I'm anxious to hear if they do!" he said.
