Tunisian actress Dorra's documentary "Wayn Serna" (The Life That Remains) will world premiere at the 45th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) on Friday night.
The 79-minute documentary will be screened at 06:00 PM as a part of the Horizons of Arab Cinema Competition.
"The Life That Remains" marks Dorra's first producing and directing effort.
The documentary follows Nadine, a young woman from Gaza, who arrived in Egypt three months after the war, accompanied by her infant daughters, whom she had given birth to a few months before the war after five years of hardship. In Egypt, she awaits her husband, who will not be able to join her for another two months.
CIFF is one of the oldest and most regular festivals in the Arab world and Africa. It acquires its unique status by being the only festival in the Arab and African region registered under Category “A” in the International Federation of Producers in Paris (FIAPF).
